Toni O’Brien
Toni relocated to Texas in 2008, after her mother passed away. She had cared for her parents for 5 years prior to her mother’s death. The relocation was to a warmer climate as she continued to care for her aging father, who was soon diagnosed with Alzheimer’s disease. Over the next nine challenging years, she navigated the emotional toll of witnessing her fathers’ health decline.
One of the hardest conversations she faced was encouraging them to transition to a safer living environment. While her family initially tried in-home care, they realized it wasn’t the right fit. Although her parents were resistant to the idea of a senior residence, they eventually found relief and comfort in having constant support and community.
In San Antonio, Toni worked with estate planning and elder law firms, where she saw how illness or loss often caused families to fracture under stress. Motivated to help, she became a certified mediator to guide families through conflict, ensuring their loved ones’ needs remain the priority.
For Toni, helping families find the right care solutions brings immense relief and joy. She considers it a privilege to assist each family in creating a space where they can feel safe, supported, and free to enjoy life.
